William Blake (28 November 1757 – 12 August 1827)

Happy National Days everyone 🙂

The Romantic Poetry Class (332 NGL)+ Writing Report (230 NGM) have been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date still to be determined.

For the meantime, get to know a great Romantic fellow; William Blake. A most influential figure in the history of poetry and visual artistry during that era. A critic proclaimed him “far and away the greatest artist Britain has ever produced” while some others consider him as the maddest of all! William Wordsworth commented, “there is something in the madness of this man which interests me more than the sanity of Lord Byron and Walter Scott.”

Pick up one poem of your free choice to read, contemplate, analyze, and find out in which way the lines represent the characteristics of the Romantic Age. Enjoy your weekend!
